Turkey THREATENS to ‘return Australians in caskets’

Tayyip Erdogan has been condemned worldwide for using footage of the Christchurch massacre in nationwide campaign rallies ahead of next week’s Turkish election.

The hardline Muslim president took to the stage and attacked the ANZACs and their ancestors.

Erdogan threatened anyone with anti-Islamic views who plans to travel to Turkey for next months Anzac commemorations, will return home in coffins like their grandfathers did after Gallipoli.

Your grandparents came here… and they returned in caskets.

Have no doubt we will send you back like your grandfathers.”

Many Australians from all walks of life have taken to social media to express their outrage, including Armenian-Australians, who are calling on the Australian government to use this opportunity to take a stand and formally recognise the Armenian Genocide.

During World War I, approximately 1.5 million Armenians were slaughtered by the Ottoman Empire, which is now Turkey.

Haig Kayserian from the Armenian National Committee of Australia told 2GB radio the Turkish government has lifted a “diplomatic veil” between the two countries by continuing to use our ANZAC history as a “pawn”.

Australia’s prime minister said he “will not take the bait but all options are on the table’.
