Teenage girl,17 dies after attack ‘unprovoked attack’

A 17 year old girl has died after being stabbed in what has been described as an ‘unprovoked attack’.

Emergency services responded to calls of an incident at a park in Harold Hill, East London around approximately 21:00 yesterday evening

Jodie Chesney was found suffering from a stab wound and died shortly after at around 21:30 at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed Jodie’s identity but have yet to make any arrests.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said:

“An investigation has been launched by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).

“At this early stage, there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”


Jodie is the first teenage girl and the 18th person to be killed in London this year, with this tragic incident taking place on the same week in which four stabbings in London were recorded within eight hours.
