Tommy Robinson’s independent journalism has proven to be problematic and dangerous. Independent Citizen Journalism Crushed By The State!
Craig Murray is a former British ambassador to Uzbekistan and an associate of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. During the 2016 Presidential election in the USA Wikileaks were responsible for publishing emails that “leaked” from the Hillary Clinton campaign. The preferred narrative from mainstream media and the US intelligence community was that the emails were “hacked” by Russian operatives, then given to Wikileaks. This accusation has been denied over and over again by Julian Assange himself.
The publishing of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails provided a wealth of information revealing the inner workings of the DNC, John Podesta and Hillary Clinton. These “leaked” revelations undoubtedly damaged Hillary Clinton’s campaign to become the 45th President of the United States of America, something she has confirmed numerous times. It’s one of many reasons Hillary Clinton used to blame for her loss to Donald Trump.
The “hacking” narrative used by mainstream media and intelligence services was challenged by none other than British ex-Diplomat Craig Murray. He said he flew to Washington for a clandestine handoff with one of the email sources in September and received a package in a wooded area near American University.
“Neither of [the leaks] came from the Russians. The source had legal access to the information. The documents came from inside leaks, not hacks.”
During this time, veterans of the intelligence community seemed to confirm this hypothesis, or at least pour water on a supposed “Russian hack”. Bill Binney is a former NSA Technical Director who said that the speed of the “downloaded theft” pointed not towards an “internet hack”, but someone using an external drive to download the information.
This gives some legitimacy to Craig Murray’s version of events, given the fact he is a close associate of Julian Assange his story has some credibility. Maybe he picked up an “external drive” of some kind which would point towards a “leak” rather than a “Russian hack”, which is what intelligence services and mainstream media want you to believe.
Contempt For Independent Citizen Journalism
We have recently witnessed the British State prosecute Tommy Robinson for “Contempt of Court”, not once but twice, and for the same thing, livestreaming outside a Court. Tommy said at the time all journalists need to think about what the British State is doing to silence any contrary or dissenting voices.
Today we have found that Craig Murray, the ex-British Diplomat and close associate of Julian Assange is also now facing contempt of court charges for his reporting/blogging on the alleged Alex Salmond rape case. Alex Salmond faced accusations of attempted rape, assault with intent to rape and twelve charges of sexual assault between 29th of June 2008 and the 11th of November 2014. Ten individuals were involved in bringing this case against Alex Salmond, something he always denied and was recently acquitted of.
The women who made the allegations against Mr Salmond included an SNP politician, a party worker and several current and former Scottish government civil servants and officials.
The Court issued reporting restrictions on “certain aspects of the case”. Pro-Scottish independence newspaper The National reported this on the 8th of March:
“Reporting restrictions have been applied to certain aspects of this case. There is nothing unusual about this. Because the proceedings are active – and have been active since Alex Salmond was first charged – this means the Contempt of Court Act 1981 applies to anything which appears in the public domain about this prosecution. These contempt rules will continue to apply until the case reaches its conclusion, and perhaps even beyond it”.
Craig Murray, as an independent citizen journalist, was all over this story from the very start. He did find it difficult to gain access to court hearings, specifically for “all the key evidential parts of Alex Salmond’s trial”. He quickly realised that public and citizen journalists will be excluded and only the MSM will be permitted to be there. You can read more about that on his blog by clicking HERE.
The Crown Office confirmed that Craig Murray is now “the subject of active proceedings in relation to a potential contempt of court”.
Maybe there is a link to independent citizen journalism, getting in the crosshairs of intelligence services and legal action taken by the British State?
