People are starting to PROTEST China in Australia

by Avi Yemini

An Australian man furious by the Victorian Government agreement with Beijing’s controversial Belt and Road initiative has decided to fight back.

Morgan Jonas from Melbourne has teamed up with Hong Kong-born Australian Fiona Hui and organised a rally to “stop the sale of Victoria” to Chinese government interests.

Mr Jonas says he organised the demonstration because “inviting oppressive regimes, such as China, into our backyard will erode our civil liberties, just like they’ve done in Hong Kong.”

The protest is planned for Sunday, 22 March 2020 at noon outside the Parliament House of Victoria.

The event page on Facebook states:

“Daniel Andrews new agreement with the Chinese Communist Party (Belt and Road Initiative) is anything but transparent.

The Chinese Communist Party has a proven track record of lies, deception, theft, economic sabotage, subversion, torture and murder.

By deepening Victoria’s ties with China and inviting huge Chinese firms into Victoria, Daniel Andrews is putting our security and future at tremendous risk.

Despite concerns from the federal government, Andrews has clearly demonstrated his intent to proceed with the deal.

Much of Victoria has been sold off already; the time is well overdue for we the people to take a stand.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Please spread the word about this most important event, and I hope to see you all there.
