A top Police Chief has revealed that at least 10,000 Police Officers trained in the controlling and prevention of disorder during civil unrest are on standby ready to be deployed in the event of anarchy on the streets of Britain from the possible tensions of Brexit.
Chief Constable Charlie Hall, who is the National Police Chiefs Council has revealed that the specialist trained officers have been amassed to stop looting, rioting and general disorder on the streets .
He has said that assistance and reinforcements for local Police could begin within an hour of their request and take up to eight hours to be completely deployed, saying “We would easily run at that pace for the first seven days.”
The chair of the National Police Chiefs Council Martin Hewitt has issued a warning to whom he described as “prominent individuals“, saying that they should avoid inciting anger given the febrile and emotive atmosphere currently enveloping Britain.
With the continued debacle of Brexit and the political point scoring mixed with party ‘in-fighting’, one could be easily forgiven for attributing the ‘anger incitement’ to the very politicians who are heading up the transition of Britain leaving the EU and NOT the rhetoric from ordinary British citizens who feel utterly betrayed democratically.
Up to 1,000 officers are being trained in case Northern Ireland requires reinforcements, with mainland police constables being taught specific tactics needed in the region.
Hall said 15 out of 43 police forces in England and Wales had placed some restrictions on leave. He also revealed there had been 37 Brexit-related crimes in the last two weeks, half of which were malicious communication, with other offences including harassment and verbal abuse.
The 10,000 officers are greater in number than what was deployed during the notorious riots that engulfed Britain in 2011.
